Job description

Go-Elective offers medical students, premed undergraduates, and medical practitioners a unique opportunity to explore healthcare delivery in Africa. Our longstanding collaboration with local treatment centers and training institutions abroad gives our participants exceptional access to mentorship, and supervised hands-on experience in busy, under resourced hospitals. They also get a chance to travel, explore and volunteer.

As healthcare advocates, committed to training and universal healthcare access, we organize end-to-end medical electives, medical internships, nursing, surgery clerkships, pre-dentistry programs, PA internships abroad, public health, and pre-med shadowing experiences in public and private hospitals in East Africa.

We help you choose your ideal destination and departments, receive pre-trip support, get round-the-clock in-country support, and indulge in private, catered accommodation.

Activities

Learning Opportunities:

Typical Duties for Senior Medical Students and Residents:

  • History taking
  • Record keeping
  • Taking vitals
  • Removing stitches
  • Minor suturing
  • Administering shots and vaccinations
  • Applying IVs
  • Assisting in childbirth
  • Assisting in operations et cetera

Preferred profile

  • Be enrolled in a medical, PA, nursing or Premed Program
